ID & DBS verified
Every carer on the platform
GPS check-in/out
Every session tracked
Pay after care
Card captured on completion

Carers set their own rates
Every carer on Avelia completes the same set of checks before they can accept bookings. There are no shortcuts and no shortcuts — one standard for everyone.
⚠️ For families: We strongly encourage you to meet your carer and review their documents before a first booking. Avelia facilitates checks but does not replace your own due diligence.
Enter your location and care needs. Browse verified carers with real ratings, photos, and hourly rates set by the carers themselves.
Choose your date and time, pay securely by card. Your card is authorised but only charged after the session ends — for the exact time worked, not a penny more.
Your carer checks in within 200m of your address. You receive a real-time notification. When the session ends, payment is captured for actual time. Then rate your carer.
Built with verification, transparency, and accountability at every step.
Every carer completes ID verification, right-to-work check, Enhanced DBS, and two guarantors before accepting a single booking. No exceptions.
Carers set their own hourly rate per care type. You see exactly what you pay. No hidden agency markups, no subscription fees — just fair pay for care delivered.
Your card is authorised at booking but only captured when the session ends. Session ran short? You're only charged for what was delivered.
Check-in and check-out require the carer to be within 200m of your address. Location coordinates are logged at each event to verify session delivery.
After every session, you rate your carer. Only clients who completed a confirmed booking can leave a review — no anonymous or unverified ratings.
SMS and in-app alerts when your carer accepts, checks in, and checks out. You're informed at every stage, even remotely.
Whether you're experienced or just starting out, Avelia gives you a platform to grow your client base — at rates you control, on your schedule.
Carers using Avelia operate as self-employed individuals or independent contractors. You are responsible for your own tax, National Insurance, and professional insurance. Avelia does not provide employment rights, holiday pay, or sick leave.
Start earning as a carer →We take a flat 15% platform fee. No hidden deductions, no weekly subscriptions. You set your own rate per care type and keep the majority of what you earn.
Set your own availability — morning, afternoon, evening, overnight. Accept only the jobs that suit your schedule.
Earnings are typically transferred every Monday via Stripe, subject to processing times. No chasing invoices or delayed payments.
Complete all checks upfront and display your verified badge. Clients can review your DBS and right-to-work status before booking — building trust from day one.
Avelia is a marketplace platform — we are not a care regulator and do not inspect or register carers on behalf of Ofsted or the CQC. Individual carers are responsible for maintaining any required registrations.
Carers submit ID, DBS certificates, right-to-work, and guarantor details during onboarding. Our compliance team reviews all submissions and maintains a full audit trail. Families can request to see verification status before booking.
Check-in and check-out require the carer's device to be within 200m of your address. Location coordinates are logged at each event. GPS is one safeguard — we recommend a brief call or message at the start of each session too.
If there's a billing error — such as a system fault, a no-show confirmed by GPS, or a double charge — contact us and we'll investigate and issue a correction. Carers are self-employed and responsible for their own professional conduct.
Avelia facilitates identity and DBS document checks but does not act as a regulated care provider. You are responsible for satisfying yourself as to the suitability of any carer you engage, including verifying their documents independently where necessary. Carers are responsible for maintaining any registrations required by law for the type of care they provide. Please review our Safeguarding Policy and Terms & Conditions before booking.
"I found a great carer for my mum within the day. The GPS check-in notification gave me peace of mind while I was at work. I still met her first over a video call."
